International leading law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised SFL (Société Foncière Lyonnaise), the benchmark in the Paris prime commercial property market, as part of the signing of a 5-year €835M sustainability-linked syndicated revolving credit facility, including three ESG performance indicators.
This 5-year credit facility (plus two one-year extension options) replaces existing lines and also enhances the Group’s liquidity.
This new credit facility includes an adjustment mechanism of the margin based on three ESG performance indicators consistent with the Group’s objectives and strategy in terms of carbon emissions reduction, ESG certification of its assets and GRESB rating (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark, which analyses and compares the ESG performance and best practices of companies active in the sector).
This credit facility has been syndicated through a banking pool of 10 leading banks. BNP Paribas and CaixaBank acted as sustainability coordinators, while BNP Paribas acted also as transaction coordinator and facility agent.
