Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has provided Hong Kong and U.S. law advice to REPT BATTERO Energy Co., Ltd. (‘REPT BATTERO’) in the global offering and listing of its H shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The gross proceeds raised were approximately US$272m. Trading in the shares commenced today (18 December 2023).REPT BATTERO is a leading lithium-ion battery manufacturer in China. The company focuses on the R&D, manufacturing and sales of lithium-ion EV battery products and ESS battery products. The company was established in 2017 with the goal of expanding into the promising and rapidly-growing new energy industry. In 2022 and the six months ended 30 June 2023, the company had an 8.8 per cent and 5.7 per cent market share, making it the third and then the fourth-largest lithium-ion battery manufacturer globally in terms of global ESS battery installations.
The Freshfields team advising on the transaction was led by partner and head of China ECM Richard Wang and partner Howie Farn. They were supported by counsel Chris Fu and associates Xinyu Wang, Yuwei Tian, Frank Fan, Zhuolin Li and Zijian Cao.
