Transactional Business Law Attorney Amanda Leese Joins Quarles & Brady Washington, D.C., office as Partner

Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Amanda Leese has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C., office as a partner in the Business Law Practice Group.
She advises private companies and sponsors in the formation and management of investment vehicles, in addition to handling an array of strategic transactions, including direct investments, co-investments, acquisitions, divestitures, and secondary transactions. Leese has advised clients on deals ranging in size from over $4 billion to under $10 million across diverse industries including the energy, financial services, biomedical device, and transportation sectors.
“We continue to grow and strengthen our corporate transactional team and Amanda is an important addition to the group,” said Will Schultz, national chair of the Business Law Group. “Her fund formation experience benefits many of our clients who are participants in the capital markets and private equity space, and she gives us additional ability to support clients in the Eastern region.”
Prior to beginning her private practice, Leese was a special assistant for policy and projects in the office of U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen and a supply chain analyst for the Clinton Health Access Initiative with The Clinton Foundation. As a law student, she held several government-related internships, including with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Department of State. Before joining Quarles & Brady, she practiced with global law firms in Boston and Chicago.
Leese earned a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
“I’m thrilled to join Quarles & Brady and get to work with its growing team of transactional attorneys,” Leese said. “I have enjoyed building a diverse practice and look forward to contributing that experience to the firm and its clients and continuing to build that practice. I admire the firm’s history and approach to growth and am excited to be part of the team.”
